Apple has introduced new models of the iPhone and iPod touch, both equipped with twice as much memory as before.

The new higher capacity products join the existing models. The 16GB iPhone costs £329, while the 8GB model maintains its £269 price tag. Apple's iPod touch now ships in a 32GB model for £329, joining the 16GB model for £269 and the 8GB model for £199.

"For some users, there's never enough memory," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of worldwide iPod and iPhone product marketing. "Now people can enjoy even more of their music, photos and videos on the most revolutionary mobile phone and best WiFi mobile device in the world."

Apple says the upgraded products are available now through its normal retail and O2 retail channels.
